Reviews
I'm sick of all the panhandling and all the donation people as you enter the Woolworths. Come on I'm just going in there to grab some food I don't need to be bombarded by these people. it is so so hard for me just to go in and go shopping.
The staff are always lovely. The store has the basics you need. Their clientele is mostly broke students and stoners especially at night. Lower your expectations and you'll be fine. P.S. Y'all Karens and Darren complaining about the panhandlers... they're across the road at Coles too. They're in Camberwell too. They're in the city too. It's called poverty.
Great service on a Sunday morning with the opening crew. Staff are very friendly and happy. Chams serves me every time with a warm friendly manner and has excellent people skills.
Big chain supermarkets are over priced. There are better small local grocers and butchers with competitive prices, fresher ingredients then buying from here, they are very close as well.
I only used Woolies for pre-packed goods. Or I try to avoid these places by all means.
The Woolies in Hawthorn also just always seems disgusting to me. Doesn't feel clean. Produce looks old. The meat looks yellow. The shelves look messy I would rather go to the Camberwell big one that looks and feels much cleaner.
Coles a little bit further down is exactly the same.
That's why I choose markers or small groceries or butchers to purchase my food
Bad experience
Team doesn’t know much from management side perspective. Very less knowledge on products, offers and the night team(frontend) was not much helpful
Once I went, and took item from clearance, somehow the price was not listed for 2 items. I have asked them a price, so they told me that they’ll give at full price as they don’t have knowledge on this
Not really the store's fault but it's unpleasant with all the bums congregating out the front harassing people for money
Wait time at checkout counter could be an issue so, highly recommended to use self checkout machines. Fresh meats are sometimes difficult to find and chilled ones, aplenty. Happy shopping.
They sure do find new an unique ways to be mediocre for a premium price
